Allison Martin
Dance Artist/Program Instructor

Allison is a professional artist with numerous years of experience in the field of dance. She is a qualified program facilitator and an instructor in the social service field, and has worked with adults with exceptionalities for the past 2 years. Most recently, Allison graduated from Humber College with a diploma as a “Social Service Worker”.

It was during her field placement that she discovered her aptitude and passion for working with adults with exceptionalities. Through the field practice process, Allison learned how to practice according to the code of ethics and standards of practice of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and developed proper work habits which taught her how to navigate moral, ethical, clinical, and political issues as they emerged in the placement. She works well as part of a team and performs to the highest standards of professionalism; Allison is a great addition to Sara Elizabeth Centre, as well as a valuable key member with unique talents that benefit all of the participants in several different ways. She provides a powerful outlet for many young people who have a background in the art of self-expression movement and dance, especially for those who are unable to speak and communicate verbally.

Allison’s humbleness and patience are the very tools that touch the hearts of all the students.
