Taking a “Leap of Faith”

Blue Veil Charity is a registered, non-profit charitable organization founded February 27, 2006.  On July 21, 2006 Blue Veil Charity was granted authorization to operate and establish an arts-based inclusive day program called SARA ELIZABETH CENTRE, for young adults with various developmental and/or physical challenges. Our Registered Charitable No. is 803339340RR0001. We provide music-based youth programs to all communities, regardless of the race, religion or ability to pay.

It all began with a “Leap of Faith”.  Blue Veil launched its first annual dinner/dance fundraiser called “Leap of Faith”. This fundraiser provided Blue Veil Charity the opportunity to assist a MS recipient, by donating part of the monies raised at the fundraiser to purchase a special bed.  Within that same year Blue Veil Charity was granted approval by the York Catholic District School Board to support their safe school initiatives on anti-bullying, character building, peace, unity, etc. With the generous support our Modern Rock band Fairchild, Blue Veil Charity was able to provide live stage musical performances, as a fundraising tool for Sara Elizabeth Centre. Blue Veil Charity then expanded by addressing the needs of youth by providing retreats, workshops and other events. Blue Veil Charity began reaching out to other school communities such as Toronto, Dufferin Peel, Halton, Hamilton, Wellington, London, Simcoe and Oshawa regions.

Through the ‘arts’ primarily music Blue Veil Charity became a great school spirit builder and in a short period of time word spread.  our team of trained young men and women had found a powerful tool that touches the hearts of many young people.  Our program also serves as an educational forum for students to interact and understand the importance of staying in school.

After 5 years Blue Veil Charity has booked over 300 live musical performances, 250 Retreats and workshops and has reached out to over 300,000 young people.
Since the beginning Blue Veil Charity has been booking tours in schools all across the GTA.

In July 2006 Sara Elizabeth Centre, (an integrated ‘arts’ based Youth Centre for special needs) was established.

Today Blue Veil Charity continues to book tours and accommodate the needs of the community through various inclusive arts based youth programs such as Sara Elizabeth Centre.
